Frequently Asked Questions

The app didn't detect a face in my photo. Why?

Face detection works best with bright lighting, the face fully visible (no sunglasses, masks, or hands), and faces that aren't extreme profiles. If detection fails, try a clearer or more brightly lit photo, or get closer to the camera.

Can I add letters to other parts of the face (nose, mouth)?

Yes! After K-emoji places hangul over the eyes automatically, tap the + Add button in the editor to add more letters anywhere on the photo. You can drag, pinch to resize, and rotate them freely.

Background mode isn't working well. Why?

Background mode separates you from the background using on-device segmentation. It works best when:

If the cutout looks rough, try Face mode instead, or pick a photo with a plainer background.

Are my photos sent to a server?

No. All face detection, background segmentation, and image processing happens entirely on your iPhone. K-emoji has no servers that handle image data. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

What languages does K-emoji support?

The app interface is available in 18 languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Arabic, Hindi, Filipino, French, Malay, Hebrew, Turkish, and Russian. The app uses your iPhone's system language automatically.

What devices does K-emoji support?

iPhone running iOS 17 or later. The app is built for iPhone but also runs on iPad in compatibility mode.

Can I delete my data?

K-emoji doesn't store your photos or personal data anywhere — there's nothing for us to delete. The saved photos in your iOS Photos library are yours; delete them anytime from the Photos app.
